Oral Prophylaxis

Scaling

Use of specialized dental instruments to remove plaque and tartar from the surfaces of the teeth, both above and below the gumline. This process helps prevent gum disease (gingivitis and periodontitis) and tooth decay by eliminating bacterial deposits.

Root Planing

It involves smoothing the root surfaces of the teeth to remove bacteria and promote healing of the gum tissue.

Polishing & Flossing

A gritty toothpaste-like substance is applied to remove surface stains and smooth out the tooth enamel, leaving the teeth clean and shiny.

Flossing is done to remove remaining plaque or polishing paste from areas that are difficult to reach with a toothbrush.
